Russ Bradchulis and Souraya Lorenz
Russ and Souraya each started out dancing in their hometown bars around 2010, and began competing in the UCWDC in 2016 with different partners. They met at Paradise Country Dance Festival a couple years later when Russ missed the restart on a line dance during warmups. It’s still a story they both enjoy telling to this day. Russ and Souraya found a synergy and connection that brought them to compete together in 2022. They quickly graduated to Division 2 in the UCWDC, where they currently compete regularly in Couples and Line Dance and are World Champions. Souraya also recently became the California State Champion in the Country Swing Strictly competition at The Edge Dance Event.
In addition to teaching at numerous regional and local events to students of all skill levels, they also happily run Country Remix SD, the largest country social dance night in Southern California, held at Dance HQ San Diego every 2nd, 4th, and 5th Friday. It is there that they pursue their passion for teaching dance, connecting with their community, and giving back to the dance world that has done so much for them over the years.
